Recommended ProductsFrom time to time the Scribbles that Matter Journal is sold out on Amazon. When this happens third party sellers will try to sell the journal for an insane amount of money. DO NOT BUY THAT! Scribbles that Matter should be back in stock soon. My second favorite journal is the Essentials Dot Matrix, though I warn you the pages on this one are thinner and bleeding and shadows show up on opposite sides. However, it's a decent cheap journal if you are in a pinch and just want to get started.

What is Self Care?
Self care is taking time in your day to focus on yourself. It’s taking time to care for your mental health, your physical needs, and your overall well being. Self care is about identifying when you need to care for yourself because it will help you to better care for others.
There are 5 or more different aspects of self care and we are going to focus on what I consider the main five areas.
Mental Self Care
Just like with our bodies it is important to exercise your brain every single day. This could be reading a book, doing crossword puzzles, or writing. These things help your brain to stay active and not allowing it to lose its strength.
Creative Self Care
An often overlooked form of self care is getting creative. This can be through art, drawing, writing, music, or dance. Creativity is not something we are born with it’s something we use and practice in order to gain more. Spending time being creative is a fantastic way to release stress.
Physical Self Care
Physical self care is more than just exercise. It is staying hydrated, eating healthy, a good night’s sleep and pampering yourself. When your physical is well fueled and well taken care of you can more easily release tension in your body. A healthier body also leads to less achy joints and backs.
Emotional Self Care
Emotional self care is taking stock of your emotional well being. Take time to release your anger or sadness so you can feel more joy. If you do not regularly deal with your emotions you could cause more harm in your life when you eventually explode. It’s important to stay aware of your emotions.
Mindfulness Self Care
Mindfulness self care is taking time to meditate, record things you are grateful for, and being aware of your present state. Living in the present and practicing mindfulness will help you in several areas of your life including dealing better with stressful situations.
Why do it?
There is nothing about self care that is selfish. Would you be able to carry fuel to others if your own car was empty of fuel? No. It’s important to make sure that your fuel your body and mind every single day so that you are better equipped to help others.
Practicing self care can help you be a more patient, kind, and helpful person. It can help you to control certain mental health issues. Self care helps to ease feelings of anxiety and depression. Practicing self care often can help you to feel better as a whole. Your body and mind start lining up with each other to live a more whole life.

Using Self Care Trackers
Bullet journal self care tracking is not the same as habit tracking. The goal isn’t necessarily to do all of your self care tasks everyday. The goal is to do one small one every day and take a day every now and then to focus on replenishing yourself.
When you are using a self care tracker you simply pick a few ideas you want to do for yourself and then mark them off on the dates that you do them. By doing a little something for self care every single day it will keep feeling good about things.
Also switch up what area of self care you are focusing on so that you are fueling each area of your life. This will keep you in peak physical and mental states helping your body and mind feel better overall.
